"Created in May 1933 to welcome members of Rio's elite, who previously only attended the Gávea Golfe and Country Club, the Itanhangá Golfe Club was designed with a structure that prioritized sports such as golf and polo. Today, visitors can already find target shooting , horse riding, yachting, boating, archery, tennis and bowling. The golf course, which has 27 holes, hosts tournaments such as the Brasil Cup and the Scandinavian Cup, as well as amateur and youth competitions, among other events. Visitors can also take part in classes at the polo school set up on the premises of the club, which also receives non-member students."
